I began compilation of Jim Russell’s Memoirs July 27, 2014. My goal is to capture and record salient events of my life. I focus on family and special friends as they are the most important aspect of my life. The compilation includes special events and tributes that I have written and received to and from family members and professional colleagues. It includes articles that I have written and that were published on web or elsewhere. My initial purpose is to capture and codify these tributes and articles before they are forever lost but my memoirs are a work in progress so I am not sure where it will end up. I hope it will serve an interesting historical purpose. I have always enjoyed writing and felt it important to recognize the lives and accomplishments of those who have had significant meaning to me, my family and my professional career. So my writings define what has been important to me. This memoir tells a story from my life rather than an autobiography that tells a story of my life.

  1. Robert Harris says:

Jim, I loved your introduction and first article.Your web design and writing approach are all you as I have known you as my best friend for over 30 years: “What you see is what you get” — straight to the point with clarity and intelligence, told as insightful stories with that easy Idaho charm and humor that makes you such a universally accessible friend. Now that I have said these nice things about you, I hope you don;t mind if I steal–I mean “repeat” some of your outrageous tales on my blog ( that you have told me about your adventures, especially the ones with wild life, true or not. I will be sure to give you credit for these.
